Glyphtrix renders ASCII visual art entirely on your device. Fine-tune density, characters, colors, and fonts, then export as PNG, text, or a frame sequence.
Everything you need to dial in the look
Drop in stills or clips. Example assets and presets help you explore fast.
Brightness, contrast, and more with a preview that updates as you tweak.
Character sets across languages and Unicode, fonts, palettes, spacing, density, and scale.
PNG snapshots, plain text, or ZIP sequences for video frames.
Your files stay on your machine
Processing runs in the browser. Nothing is uploaded for conversion. Media lives temporarily as blobs until you close or refresh - ideal for experimenting without sending assets to a server.
At a glance
From canvas pixels to characters
Glyphtrix reads the image on a canvas, applies your adjustments, divides the frame into a grid sized by Density, maps each cell’s brightness to a character from your set, then paints those glyphs with your chosen colors and font - giving you printable ASCII art or a stylized terminal aesthetic.
